Install on Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code)

0. Connect the NEXAGEN MCP

  • claude.ai / Claude Desktop: add a custom connector under Connectors, enter the server address from NEXAGEN's official MCP connection guide, and sign in with your NEXAGEN account (OAuth).
  • Claude Code: add the HTTP (remote) MCP server with claude mcp add and sign in.

1. claude.ai / Claude Desktop

claude.ai custom Skills are uploaded one ZIP per Skill (the Skill folder at the ZIP root). Available on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans with code execution enabled; uploaded Skills apply to your account only.

  1. Unzip nexagen-skills-claude-1.2.0.zip.
  2. Open the claude-ai/ folder: it holds one nexagen-<skill>.zip file per Skill.
  3. Upload the ZIPs you need, one by one, in the Skills settings of claude.ai. Installing all of them is recommended.
  4. Each Skill contains the shared core policies (core/), so a single Skill keeps the safety rules.

Note: claude.ai Skills cannot reference other Skills, so the core policies are bundled in each Skill.

2. Claude Code

Option A — copy Skill folders

  1. Unzip and copy the nexagen-* folders from claude-code-plugin/nexagen-skills/skills/.
  2. Personal: ~/.claude/skills/; project: <project>/.claude/skills/.
  3. Restart Claude Code or start a new session.

Option B — load as a plugin

  1. Place the claude-code-plugin/nexagen-skills/ folder anywhere.
  2. Run claude --plugin-dir <path>/nexagen-skills. Teams can distribute it through a plugin marketplace.

3. Check

Ask "Tell me my NEXAGEN credits and available features" (MCP), then "Continue the work in this workspace" (Skill: reads state first, generates nothing).

Uploads (file PUT)

  • Claude Code: can run the HTTP PUT from the terminal.
  • claude.ai: network access of the Skill environment depends on user/admin settings, so the PUT may be blocked. Upload in the NEXAGEN web app instead.
